The current guild logo, inspired by Attic Window, Sylvia Solomon’s hooked rug, was created in 2012. We had a synthetic banner made with the logo which we would use at guild events, rug shows and demonstrations. I began to think how nice it would be to have an actual hooked rug of our logo. So, in 2022, with Sylvia’s permission, I got to work and started dying wool and matching the colours as best I could. I drew up the pattern and began hooking. At our 2022 AGM I passed the position of president over to Emmy Maten and at our June picnic donated the finished rug to the guild.

Special Show & Tell: Christmas  Angel Blowing Horn, hooked by Debbie Séguin. Debra Séguin Angel Blowing Horn 10” x 35.5” 2018 Adaptation – from a wooden angel which my friend Sue had in her living room. Primitive style and Folk style Hooked with #6 cut on linen using recycled wool, dyed wool, yarn, and velvet Whipped edge using a velvety yarn I had seen my friend Sue’s wooden angel in her living room, and immediately asked if I could trace the wood and make a hooked rug! I love the results!
