The Glengarry Museum As part of the Martintown Wild & Woolly Rug Hookers ’ 15th anniversary celebrations, the group hosted a Hook-In on July 3, 2026, during their special exhibition at the Glengarry Museum in Williamstown, Ontario. The exhibition ran from June 22 to July 5 and showcased an inspiring collection of beautifully hooked rugs. Laura, Candace, Jacques, Isabelle, and Elizabeth from our guild made the trip to admire the exhibit and enjoy an afternoon of hooking outdoors with fellow rug hookers. Debbie M. also stopped by to visit, making it an even more enjoyable day. By all accounts, the Martintown Wild & Woolly Rug Hookers’ anniversary exhibition was a tremendous success. Congratulations to everyone involved!  Isabelle, Elizabeth, Laura and Candace happy to be there.

Beaconsfield Annual Picnic 2026 After about 10 years of fair-weather annual picnics, chance would finally give us a rain-soaked day. Quick but intense and clever planning yielded a set-up inside Centennial Hall that accommodated our participants and vendors.  While many stayed home to avoid unpleasant and lengthy drives in the heavy rain, others came out as a great way to be indoors together with friends. Olde Forge Hook-in 2026 On April 11th, thirteen of our members, along with one friend from the  Tapissiers Montréal Rug Makers , made the two-plus hour drive to attend the Olde Forge Hook-In at Britannia United Church in our nation’s capital, Ottawa, Ontario.  What a great group! International Rug Hooking Day Event On December 4, our Guild hosted the annual International Rug Hooking Day event in South Lancaster, ON. The Saint Andrew’s Church Hall buzzed with excitement as people gathered from 6 different rug hooking groups from Quebec and eastern Ontario. One room was filled with cheerful sellers, their tables adorned with handmade crafts and vibrant rug hooking supplies. Another room displayed the paper bag auction items. Our Annual Picnic Centennial Hall, June 7, 2025 Photos courtesy of Laura This year’s picnic was another resounding success! Thank you to several dedicated husbands who arrived early to set up tents and carry tables and then returned in the afternoon for take-down. Sixty-five enthusiastic participants gathered, reconnected with friends, and were inspired by the creativity on display during Show and Tell. Guests came from near and far to join our members, making for a truly impressive turnout. We were joined by Brome County, Martintown, Montreal West, North Hero, Ormstown, Ottawa, Pointe Claire (Track2) and Thousand Islands/Brockville. Though we were initially concerned about the air quality warnings due to smoke from forest fires, the air was fine in time for our gathering. Attendees enjoyed a lively paper bag auction, several door prizes, a 50/50 draw, plus our vendors Dawna, Isabelle and Jacques offered tempting wares of all kinds for rug hookers.
