Examples from the Museum's collection, as well as rarely seen pieces from the trunks of community members will bring warmth and colour to the Museum grounds. Demonstrations of wool dying, hand quilting, rug hooking, spinning and weaving will all take place with hands-on activities and potential workshops still in the works. FĂȘte Nationale Demonstration 2014 FĂȘte Nationale in Beaconsfield Linda Henderson Beaconsfield annual FĂȘte Nationale celebration on June 24, 2014 was scheduled to take place on the beautiful grounds of Centennial Hall but torrents of rain moved the event indoors to the Recreation Centre. Despite the weather, the event was well attended by hundreds of people who seemed to delight in the many attractions and entertainment – with a special focus on children. Beaconsfield Hooking Crafters Guild joined a gallery of artisans that included quilters, wood turners and food specialists. Many guild members braved the weather and were there to demonstrate rug hooking and show their favourite hooking projects. The BHCG booth enjoyed many visitors who were both intrigued and admiring of the craft and our display. A number of our sunflowers were sold and a few people signed up to become members or to try an introductory lesson. We were proud to take part in the FĂȘte celebrations

BHCG Annual Picnic – June 14, 2014 By Ti Seymour What a thoroughly enjoyable day: meeting new friends, enjoying the company of our lovely members and shopping with the fabulous vendors. Visitors from St-Henri, Martintown, On Track II, Brockville-1000 Islanders and Rawdon arrived to enjoy the day’s events. The day kicked off with name badges, coffee and “Shopping” – this year we welcomed Linda Desbiens from Silk Devine, Tony Latham and Carolyn Mungall from St. Henri as our vendors. Once everyone’s coffee cups were filled we proceeded with a Show and Tell that was a delight to behold. After another bout of “Shopping” picnickers got the chance to buy raffle tickets and peruse the raffle and sale table. Louise G. de Tonnancour graciously accepted the task of being our Auctioneer …though secretly we suspect it’s a role she relishes…she certainly had us on the tip of our seats with her knowledge and finesse. Though certainly the comment “25 cents a feel” for the auctio
