Easter 2025

Easter Hook-In    April 14, 2025 Today felt like homecoming! To our delight, Dawna returned from her 3 months away, and Carolyn E, was in Quebec for a visit and joined us. So happy to see each other again. Some of us thought to wear our Easter Bonnets! What’s an Easter hook-in without Easter treats! A member asked about ironing a rug. And so, Candace then gave us a demonstration of how to use the Guild’s steam iron. Steam iron demonstration. Members decorated the room with bunnies, eggs, and carrots. Karen brought her homemade Easter basket of felted bunnies and eggs, and cord-wrapped carrots to decorate the door prize table. Claire brought her unique wooden box which she decorated with a tiny, hooked chicken rug surrounded by a mosaic of coloured eggshells. Karen’s Easter basket. More Easter decorations, including Claire’s wooden box, plus several of the door prizes. It was a fun Hook-In.  Happy Easter everyone!

Green Day

St Patrick’s Day – Green Day Today, everybody’s Irish! Happy smiles. Our St Patrick’s Day event was a success, thanks to two dedicated committees. The decoration committee transformed the room with a St Patrick’s Day theme. Their creativity filled the space with green, creating an inviting atmosphere. From shamrock garlands to a sparkling centerpiece on the mantel, their work sparked fun. The snack table showcased Elizabeth’s shamrock cookies and Claire’s green biscotti. Liz, Chris, and Joanne enjoy a snack and chat. Cheers! Meanwhile, the paper bag auction committee excelled in sorting and setting up, ensuring everything was organized seamlessly. Following the auction, many members went home with new wools to add to their stashes, but the luck of the Irish was truly with Debbie M, who was able to build up her stash at this one event! Debbie had to borrow this handy travel case to transport her winnings home! Thank you to the committees who showed teamwork and dedication; they ma...

I saw the snowman design on the internet and after a great deal of searching it seemed that the company who produced the pattern is no longer in business. I decided to draw my own snowman and added the welcome side panel.
