BHCG Rug Exhibition
October 17, 18, and 19
Our guild proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special rug exhibition featuring work by members past and present. The event brought together artists, family, friends, and visitors to enjoy a wide range of rugs from mini-rugs to floor rugs, wall rugs, 3-D hooked sculptures, cushions, furniture, and clothing.

Our Friday night vernissage set the tone for the weekend with a strong sense of pride. Throughout the exhibition, over 350 visitors moved through a rich and varied collection of 250 hooked rugs.
Visitors took the time to pause, look closely, and appreciate the patience, skill, and imagination hooked into each work.

Reaching a 50th anniversary is a remarkable milestone, and this celebration reminded us why our organization has endured: our members have taught one another, encouraged beginners, preserved techniques, experimented with new ideas, volunteered their time, and created a welcoming place where creativity can flourish. This event honoured not only the finished rugs on display, but also the friendships, mentorship, and shared commitment that have kept the craft alive and growing.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped make the vernissage and exhibition possible. Events like this are built through generosity, care, and teamwork, and this anniversary celebration reflected the very best of our guild.
