Our Annual General Meeting April 20, 2026

It has been a full and exciting year for us. It was our 50th year anniversary, marked with a vernissage followed by a 2-day rug exhibition showcasing over 250 of our rugs. To commemorate our special year, we made greeting cards featuring 28 of our rugs. We held a mug rug workshop for the public, enjoyed an in-house workshop led by Helen, and shared in memorable events that brought everyone together. 

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone for approving the financial statements and warmly welcoming our new Executive Committee, and our heartfelt appreciation to Emmy for her years of service as an executive member. We wish her many happy hours of punching ahead!

Thank you to all who help make our guild so great, who contribute to making our meetings interesting and fun, and who volunteer at events to showcase our art to the public. Cheers!

Olde Forge Hook-In 2025  By Joanne Th.    April 12, 2025 We were invited to the Ottawa Olde Forge Hook-in on April 12, 2025.  A group of us from our guild participated in this fun day.  The Ottawa hook-in was lovely and so well organized.  We were greeted at the door by a few of their members and we each received a mug rug hooked by the Ottawa Olde Forge members, included with a few goodies in the bag.   Each participant received a welcome gift. Great time to see friends from other guilds. Happy friends together. There were so many talented rug hookers as we saw at the Show and Tell from various rug hooking guilds. St Valentine    February 10, 2024. Red Day Our traditional Red Day photo 2025. Such a happy group together! Happy Valentine’s Day! Thank you, Cathy, for providing yummy treats for the morning snack. A very delighted Chris was the lucky winner of the beautiful door prize basket, provided and put together by Kitt (Liz and Emmy contributed some items also). And a second door prize of chocolates went to Helen.

Easter Hook-In    April 14, 2025 Today felt like homecoming! To our delight, Dawna returned from her 3 months away, and Carolyn E, was in Quebec for a visit and joined us. So happy to see each other again. Some of us thought to wear our Easter Bonnets! What’s an Easter hook-in without Easter treats! A member asked about ironing a rug. And so, Candace then gave us a demonstration of how to use the Guild’s steam iron. Steam iron demonstration. Members decorated the room with bunnies, eggs, and carrots. Karen brought her homemade Easter basket of felted bunnies and eggs, and cord-wrapped carrots to decorate the door prize table. Claire brought her unique wooden box which she decorated with a tiny, hooked chicken rug surrounded by a mosaic of coloured eggshells. Karen’s Easter basket.
