Hooked with #4, and #8 cuts of wool and punched with wool yarn using Oxford #10 regular on linen
Whipped edging
This is the first kit I purchased, before having learned to hook. I
decided to punch the background, land and sky, with my own yarn, instead
of hooking with supplied wool fabric.

On December 16th 2020, my niece and I drove to Apple Hill,
just north of Lancaster Ontario, to pick up two cats we adopted from
Bee Meadow Farm. I wanted to create cushions which would reflect their
unique personalities. These two girls were survivors and now are the joy
of our home.

Appliquéd eggs
Ready framed in a vintage frame
I wanted to display the paradox of what came first?! So I punched the
chicken and then added her nest and barn/her home. I bought the frame
for the piece, then realized there was room enough to appliqué a dozen
eggs around it.

Hooked with #4 cut wool, 100% wool yarn, some synthetic yarns, and sari silk on Monk’s cloth.
Unfinished edges are pressed to the back with raw edges machine-finished, folded under, and invisibly stitched.
I am a new rug hooker, and this was my second hooked rug. Being
interested in mixed media and self-taught through online videos, I
really enjoyed the process. This is an original design, inspired by
Pinterest. Once sketched, I was eager to get started. It took about 2
weeks to see my project materialize. It has been framed and resides in
my kitchen.

card titled “Tom the Turtle” at the museum. I phoned Nunamar for
permission to hook it. I loved the segmental pattern, ideal for hooking.
