Olde Forge Hook-In 2025

We were invited to the Ottawa Olde Forge Hook-in on April 12, 2025.  A group of us from our guild participated in this fun day.  The Ottawa hook-in was lovely and so well organized.  We were greeted at the door by a few of their members and we each received a mug rug hooked by the Ottawa Olde Forge members, included with a few goodies in the bag.  


Each participant received a welcome gift.




Great time to see friends from other guilds.




Happy friends together.


There were so many talented rug hookers as we saw at the Show and Tell from various rug hooking guilds.

There were about 100 rug hookers at the event.

We also had the opportunity to shop as there were 2 rooms filled with vendors.

Special Show & Tell: Christmas  Angel Blowing Horn, hooked by Debbie Séguin. Debra Séguin Angel Blowing Horn 10” x 35.5” 2018 Adaptation – from a wooden angel which my friend Sue had in her living room. Primitive style and Folk style Hooked with #6 cut on linen using recycled wool, dyed wool, yarn, and velvet Whipped edge using a velvety yarn I had seen my friend Sue’s wooden angel in her living room, and immediately asked if I could trace the wood and make a hooked rug! I love the results!

St Valentine    February 10, 2024. Red Day Our traditional Red Day photo 2025. Such a happy group together! Happy Valentine’s Day! Thank you, Cathy, for providing yummy treats for the morning snack. A very delighted Chris was the lucky winner of the beautiful door prize basket, provided and put together by Kitt (Liz and Emmy contributed some items also). And a second door prize of chocolates went to Helen.

More than Just Rugs Rug hooking exhibition from October 1st to 30th, 2024 Beaconsfield Library / Discovery Room Our 2024 October rug exhibit “More than Just Rugs” was on display at the library during the whole month of October. The library staff was enthusiastic saying there were many visitors and positive comments. 55 works were exhibited, including rugs, cushions, handbags, clothing, three-dimensional pieces, ornaments, etc., representing the versatility and creativity of textile art in a variety of rug hooking techniques, formats, aesthetics and functionality.
