Raffle

Dawna won a prize!

One of our members, Dawna Matthew, is very excited as she just won this rug in the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild Raffle! It is especially meaningful as it was hooked by her good friend, Sue Girouard, and she has watched it grow over her various “hooking trips” down to Vermont.

Here is the description from Green Mountain’s website:

This rug “Scrappy Rug One” was made entirely from donated worms (narrow strips of wool fabric), which are pulled up through a foundation fabric with a hook, one loop at a time.

When Guild members finish a project, they often find they've cut more "worms" than they need, and they donate them for projects like this, or for kits for beginning hookers.

Drawn by Sara Burghoff, it was hooked by our Education Chair, Sue Girouard. At 31” × 59” this is a good sized rug.
