Rug Hooked Tree Decorations

Image
December 1st, 2015 Beaconsfield Library Submitted by Ti Seymour Beaconsfield Library invited Associations to decorate a two-foot Christmas Tree that would be displayed in the Library through the Holiday season.  Denise Vandenbemden, Jeanne Osler, Dawna Matthew and myself jumped to the challenge to produce some lovely pieces that represented our Guild.  Hats off to Dawna for producing a tree skirt in record breaking time, which looked fabulous too.  Notable mention to Mary McMurray and Andrée Lapensée for a joint venture on the Christmas Star which was far too gorgeous to leave off the tree - regardless of size.   Advertising materials and a few Christmas-related items were placed alongside our tree for interested people to take.  Further photos of the trees can be found at  http://beaconsfieldbiblioblogen.blogspot.ca/ Beaconsfield Hooking Crafters Guild Beaconsfield Bowling Club Friends of Beaconsfield Library Beaconsfield Artis...

Green Mountain Annual Meeting

Nov 7th, 2015   Green Mountain Guild’s Annual Meeting and Fall Retreat   By Dawna Matthew In November I attended the Green Mountain Guild’s Annual Meeting and Fall Retreat. The guest speaker, Suzanne Dirmaier, inspired us all with her talk on “Lessons from the Art World”. My class with Molly Colegrove gave me the courage to incorporate many different kinds of media into my hooking. Molly is an excellent teacher and not afraid to push the boundaries. The colourful wares of the vendors, Stephanie Allen-Krauss of Green Mountain Hooked Rugs, Nancy Jewett of Fluff and Peachy Bean Designs, and Rae Harrell Rug Hooking were there to satisfy any search for that special piece of fibre. Angela Foote, with all her beautiful wool, ran a class on Exploring Colour & Hooking. There was a huge selection of gifts for the teacup auction. I even won two items! All in all it was a perfect weekend and I am sure that everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. Green Mountain Annu...

Westview Craft Fair  16789 blvd. Pierrefonds, Pierrefonds Qc. Friday Nov. 6th, 6-9 pm, and Saturday7th, 9:30 am-4 pm. Summary by L. G. de Tonnancour Ti Seymour, Denise Morissette, Denise Vandembendem, Maria Romero and Louise G. de Tonnancour had a lovely time at this annual fair where, at the sound of a very melodic live orchestra, over sixty artisans sold their crafts to visitors who came in great numbers. It was the ideal occasion to promote the guild and demonstrate rug hooking.  We were well taking  of  by a little Christmas elf named Ciara who took the orders for lunch and even tried hooking a few loops.  Enjoy the pictures!
