Whipped edging with pink wool yarn around a black hooked border
This rug pattern on linen was gifted to me on my birthday by the artist Kelli Smith. We are members of the same Facebook page, and she sent it to me because she said I always was supportive to the other people who post. I was thrilled. It was my challenge to use only pre-owned pre-cut strips without cutting any new ones. I was almost successful with this challenge, and I am happy with the result.

This pattern was included in a gift basket I won at the International Rug Hooker’s Day, December 4, 2022. I double-whipped the edging in green and purple yarns.

During COVID, I took 3 courses with Deanne Fitzpatrick, one of which was Rebooting Tradition which included this rug pattern. The courses helped me out with stress and being stuck at home.

Braided finish
I wanted to make a rug to go with my living room colours which are pink, yellow, and green. Judith hand-dyed the wool for me. I put this rug at the foot of my recliner for my comfort zone.
