In Memory of Réjean Courtemanche
Réjean Courtemanche (1946-2021) |
We will all sadly miss Réjean Courtemanche (1946 – 2021), who was a very appreciated member of the Beaconsfield Hooking Crafters Guild. Respectful towards all, he added joy and camaraderie to our meetings, and created beautiful rugs, adding this skill to his many artful talents. We will all keep fond memories of the times shared with him.

Autumn Blossoms
2013
30 by 22 inches
In 2013, on a visit to Prince Edward Island, I discovered hooked rugs, their beauty and how they were made. In a local store specializing in hooked rugs, I bought a pre-printed pattern, as well as the wool needed to complete the rug.
On my return, I joined BRHG so I could learn how to hook a rug and get skillful enough to get it done. The members of the Guild were very helpful in guiding me in the different steps required to make a rug, and I was finally able to finish my first rug.
