Get-together
July 26, 2021 Hook-In
by Emmy MatenOur guild held a Hook-in and a Paper Bag Auction under a large tent behind Centennial Hall. The fact that we have all been double-vaccinated, and that we were able to meet outdoors, allowed us to feel that wonderful sense of “normal” again, even if just for a few hours.

Many of us are keeping contact virtually through weekly Zoom meetings, a real bonus for those away in another country or at a cottage with internet access. But seeing our rug hooking friends in person brings a special joy!
It was a golden opportunity for members to replenish their rug hooking supplies with our paper bag auction of some 50 pieces of donated items ranging from instruction books, background fabrics, wools, hoops, and some beautiful, finished pieces. Also available were Ti’s lush velvets and Dawna’s beautiful dyed wool fabrics and yarns.

Candace brought her spinning machine and gave us a demonstration! And Isabelle showed us an effective way to decorate a border using a blanket stitch.
Many thanks to all who contributed to this enjoyable event.
