Remembrance Day |
This year we remember the Commonwealth of Nations War Dead (mainly past British Commonwealth members).
Remembrance Day November 11, 2019 commemorates the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiegne, France for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front which took effect at 11 AM, the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
This year Remembrance Day is not mentioning individuals but rather a Commemoration of war dead observed by Commonwealth Nations. The National War Memorial will be commemorating 53 member states. united through shared values, history, culture and languages.
This year we commemorate members of the Commonwealth of Nations, almost all former British colonies or dependent of British colonies.
Wearing a red poppy reminds us to reflect on the sacrifices of our Canadian Armed Forces.
