Show & Tell : Christmas

Special Show & Tell: Christmas! Sue Rolland-Dawson. Chilly .  Pattern: Loretta Moore (Hooked on the Lake). Sue Rolland-Dawson Chilly 5.5” x 7.75” (unframed) 2023 Purchased kit designed by Loretta Moore (Hooked on the Lake). Punched with Hand-dyed Merino single ply wool yarn using Mini punch (Ultra) with the large needle, level 2 on Weavers’ cloth. Edges folded under, glued on to a frame. My husband Peter made the frame for me from a piece of 100-year-old snow fence which a rug hooking member Debbie gave me.

Our Christmas Party December 15, 2025.   This year’s annual Christmas party was a joyful gathering, with 33 members coming together to celebrate the season. The guild was happy to welcome 8 new members this fall, most of whom joined in the festivities. Centennial Hall sparkled with festive decorations thoughtfully arranged by the City, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.   A gnome keeps watch atop the Christmas tree. These ceramic houses have little lights inside! Two tables were filled with a delicious potluck lunch and an array of tempting desserts, each dish prepared and shared with care. Festive appetizers. Yummy foods await! Leave room for dessert!   In the spirit of the season, everyone brought a handmade Christmas ornament, each one carefully wrapped in a brown paper bag to keep the creator a mystery. International Rug Hooking Day Event On December 4, our Guild hosted the annual International Rug Hooking Day event in South Lancaster, ON. The Saint Andrew’s Church Hall buzzed with excitement as people gathered from 6 different rug hooking groups from Quebec and eastern Ontario. One room was filled with cheerful sellers, their tables adorned with handmade crafts and vibrant rug hooking supplies. Another room displayed the paper bag auction items. Dawna’s beautiful wools.      Claire’s clever crafts. BHCG 50 th   anniversary cards. Denise, Kris, and Jane and crafts.   Elizabeth’s craft table. Isabelle’s and Jacques’ table. As the day unfolded, everyone’s anticipation grew as door prizes were handed out, followed by a pizza lunch. The snack and dessert tables were fabulous!
