Holiday Season
Christmas Party
December 12, 2022
The Beaconsfield Hooking Crafters Guild celebrated the Holiday Season with a surprise-filled Christmas party this past Monday.

The room looked festive, especially with Karen and Harold’s Pink Christmas Tree with ornaments! To everyone’s delight, Santa suddenly arrived, a large sack slung over one shoulder, and he danced around and said how HAPPY he was to see us all and handed out crackers and patties for each.

Then, the big reveal!
It was Ti! (She had arrived on the weekend from “North Pole” Toronto, after a grueling 14-hour drive in a snowstorm along the whole of highway 401!).
It's Ti! |
Mary set up her baby grand electric keyboard, and the fun Christmas singing began, popular songs with the lyrics changed to Hookin’ Words. Mary offered some prizes to those who could come up with more songs with Hookin’ lyrics! Our members delivered: Chris, Helen, and Dawna came up with a song, and then so did Isabelle. Great imaginations and such clever creativity.

In place of our usual Secret Santa gift giving, this year we did a mug rug exchange. Those who participated are now enjoying a co-hooker’s art when they sip their hot beverage, giving a feeling of kinship even when at home. There were also some lucky winners of several door prizes.
17 people made mug rugs. One lucky person received a set of 4! |
Everyone brought in their empty cookie tins, and all the bakers passed around yummy home-made cookies and squares to fill each container. What a scrumptious-looking assortment of goodies!
Yummy, home baked goodies. |
Following a light lunch, everyone engaged in a surprize mini workshop, led by Ti. We made a penny-bauble from rounds of wool, stitched together using embroidery floss and a blanket stitch.

Heartfelt thanks go out to everyone, as each member made this party so much fun!
Happy Holidays to all our friends! |
