The Barachois Historic Church, now a local museum, art gallery, and summer concert venue, commences its 200th year celebrations with “200 Hooked Cushions for my 200th”. The cushions will be permanently exhibited on the old wooden church pews.

The opening exhibition of these donated hooked cushions will be held August 18, during the 2019 World Acadian National Congress. An exposition catalogue will be produced to include photos of the cushions and information about the artisans, their creation, as well as technical details.

Cushions

Several of our Guild members were very keen to participate in this creative project. Shown here are 6 of our members with their cushions.

Clockwise from left to bottom right: Ti, Claire, Emmy, Kitt, Dawna, Manon

Candace also made a cushion, which the Church has already received.
This exhibition is a wonderful reason to visit the Maritimes this summer!
