AndreaZuill is a very talented visual artist from California. She works in many mediums: oils, water colours, silk screening, sculpture and embroidery, to name a few. Every month, she generously shares free embroidery designs on her blog and she encourages people who use these patterns to send her a photo of their work, so that she can publish it on the blog. These charming patterns can be adapted to rug hooking.

Debra Séguin Angel Blowing Horn 10” x 35.5” 2018 Adaptation – from a wooden angel which my friend Sue had in her living room. Primitive style and Folk style Hooked with #6 cut on linen using recycled wool, dyed wool, yarn, and velvet Whipped edge using a velvety yarn I had seen my friend Sue’s wooden angel in her living room, and immediately asked if I could trace the wood and make a hooked rug! I love the results!

A very delighted Chris was the lucky winner of the beautiful door prize basket, provided and put together by Kitt (Liz and Emmy contributed some items also). And a second door prize of chocolates went to Helen.

More than Just Rugs Rug hooking exhibition from October 1st to 30th, 2024 Beaconsfield Library / Discovery Room Our 2024 October rug exhibit “More than Just Rugs” was on display at the library during the whole month of October. The library staff was enthusiastic saying there were many visitors and positive comments. 55 works were exhibited, including rugs, cushions, handbags, clothing, three-dimensional pieces, ornaments, etc., representing the versatility and creativity of textile art in a variety of rug hooking techniques, formats, aesthetics and functionality.
