Rug hooking: is it difficult?

It is as easy or as difficult as you want. The technique is easy and the pattern is up to you.
A simple pattern can be just as pretty as a complicated one. There are no rug hooking rules, just a few guidelines, that is all. If you never hooked before and don't know anything about it, choose a small rug in a simple geometric pattern and you will not be disappointed. Any of
our members will be more than happy to help and guide you.

Debra Séguin Angel Blowing Horn 10” x 35.5” 2018 Adaptation – from a wooden angel which my friend Sue had in her living room. Primitive style and Folk style Hooked with #6 cut on linen using recycled wool, dyed wool, yarn, and velvet Whipped edge using a velvety yarn I had seen my friend Sue’s wooden angel in her living room, and immediately asked if I could trace the wood and make a hooked rug! I love the results!

More than Just Rugs Rug hooking exhibition from October 1st to 30th, 2024 Beaconsfield Library / Discovery Room Our 2024 October rug exhibit “More than Just Rugs” was on display at the library during the whole month of October. The library staff was enthusiastic saying there were many visitors and positive comments. 55 works were exhibited, including rugs, cushions, handbags, clothing, three-dimensional pieces, ornaments, etc., representing the versatility and creativity of textile art in a variety of rug hooking techniques, formats, aesthetics and functionality.
