Show & Tell / Kay Cousineau

Image
In memory of Kay Cousineau (October 11, 1923 – November 13, 2023) Respectfully submitted by Ti Seymour Kay Cousineau (1923-2023). It is with great sadness that the Beaconsfield Rug Hooking Guild bows our heads in respect and wishes Godspeed to our Past President. Kay spent her working life as the executive secretary at the head office of the Royal Bank in Montreal. Later she applied her keen spirit to becoming President (1978-1980) of the Beaconsfield Hooking Crafters Guild and was instrumental with Lois Morris in pursuing the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild (OHCG) to make Beaconsfield a Branch. I saw the snowman design on the internet and after a great deal of searching it seemed that the company who produced the pattern is no longer in business. I decided to draw my own snowman and added the welcome side panel.

Christmas Hook-In on December 11, 2023    This week, the weather was on our side and most of our members were able to enjoy our last hook-in of the year together. It was an action-filled day with a Stuffed Christmas Sock exchange, door prizes, a delicious luncheon provided by members, and a little take-home gift for each. The name of the winner of the Snap Dragon frame was drawn and it is Fay! A great turnout for our Christmas party with 35 members present! Rug hooking in the company of friends. Courtesy of Ann Arial. The door prizes are set up on the centre table. Kitt greeted us each with a Poinsettia brooch which she had secretly made for us. What a creative and lovely surprise! Did Kitt and Claire plan their outfits? A simple co-incidence! Dawna and her group of grads. From left to right: Elizabeth, Janet R, Dawna, Liz, Hilary, Joanne, and Janet T.
